October 2025 Monthly Group Hike

Join AORN of The San Francisco Bay Area for a group hike on Saturday, October 25th at 10am at Angel Island State Park. Angel Island SP is only accessible via boat or public ferry.  We will be taking the public ferry from Tiburon.

This is a chance to meet and network with your colleagues as you enjoy some exercise, fresh air and some of the best views of the Bay Area from the largest natural island in the San Francisco Bay.

Chapter Co-Vice President, Joy Chau, RN will lead the hike.

Length: 4.8 miles         
Type: Loop
Difficulty: moderate
Elevation gain: 777 feet  ***This is the total amount of ascension in the hike! Please make sure that you are able to comfortably walk this incline. 

The group will meet at 9:30am by the fountain sculpture on Main Street and walk together to the Angel Island Tiburon Ferry and depart on the 10am ferry. Depending on our hiking pace, we will either depart the island on the 3:20pm or 4:20pm ferry back to Tiburon.  The last ferry departs at 4:20pm.

You must purchase round-trip tickets for the ferry and Angel Island SP admission in advance. Tickets are nonrefundable. You can use your ticket on another day or a different ferry time if you miss the ferry you intended to take as long as there is space available.

Adverse Weather Rule:
If the forecast predicts a 50% or above chance for rain by the Thursday before the hike, then the hike will be canceled. A group text and email from Joy will be sent out by Thursday evening to those registered to confirm cancellation. Therefore, you may want to wait until Friday to purchase your ferry ticket if the forecast shows rain for Saturday, and there is a chance the hike may be canceled.

There is $5/day parking in lots A & B. Lot B is between CVS and Chase Bank, cash only. Note that this will be a 7-10 min walk to the ferry.

Don't forget to bring water, a lunch and snacks. We will eat lunch at the top of Mt. Livermore if it's not too crowded. A reminder to wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes, layers, and sunscreen.
