Thank you Medshare Volunteers!
Our chapter had its quarterly Medshare volunteer morning on January 26. Half of our group participated in the stainless steel sort, which is a special project they save for us OR nurses! Medshare receives hundreds of stainless steel surgical instruments which need to be identified. Afterwards, we received a thank you e-mail from chapter member Arlene Sakamoto who is a regular Medshare volunteer (every week!) for helping with this. The rest of us participated in the challenging (especially for the non-medical volunteers) “catheter sort”. Large plastic garbage bags full of anything with the word catheter on it (think foley, coude, foley kits, IV catheters, pain pump catheters, interventional radiology catheters, etc.)
After lunch several of us went to lunch at Liberty Ale House for networking and visiting. A good time was had by all!
