Two Active Chapter Members May Qualify for an APRN Scholarship Worth $1000

AORN of The San Francisco Bay Area is pleased to announce:

Two active chapter members enrolled in an advanced practice degree program to further their skills in the field of perioperative nursing may qualify for an offer for a scholarship worth $1000/scholarship.

The qualified applicant should be enrolled in an advanced practice degree program to further their skills in the field of perioperative nursing or have completed such a program within six months of the submission due date, June 30, 2023.

Each scholarship amount is $1,000. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate active participation in AORN of The San Francisco Bay Area over the last 18 months.  This will be determined using a point criteria system (See the attached scholarship application for how points are valued and accumulated).  

All applicants must submit the following by June 30th:

  • 1. Advanced Practice Degree Scholarship Application
    2. Copy of most recent transcript
    3. If applicable, evidence of completion of a program within the last six months
    4. Two reference letters, regarding your nursing practice, from each of the following: 
    •    (1) nursing instructor or preceptor
    •    (1) current professional colleague
    5.  Essay, 150 words or less,

6. Describe how your education will enhance your practice in perioperative nursing
7. Express your specific future goals and objectives for your practice in perioperative nursing

***Scholarship winners will be expected to serve as active members of the Education Committee in the year following receipt of their scholarship.

The Education Committee of AORN of The San Francisco Bay Area will review all submitted applications, and the two scholarship winners will be contacted and announced on the chapter website.  

Unlimited scholarships are allowed with one scholarship per member per calendar year.
